I don’t even know where to begin to describe chia seeds. They’re super weird, pretty gross looking, and super delicious and healthy.
I didn’t know much about chia seeds until this past week or so. I began to see them start to pop up on Pinterest, Facebook articles, and a survey posted by a college senior researching their senior project. I figured the universe was trying to tell me something, so I did a little research.
When you add chia seeds to any sort of liquid and let them sit for at least fifteen minutes, they become gelatinous. Seriously. I turned a pint sized mason jar into a Jell-o shot of protein, fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. They’re also loaded with antioxidants and can help you lose weight.
