Holy moly.
This book was intense.
If you’re looking for a psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further than You by Caroline Kepnes.
In the first few pages we meet Joe Goldberg, unassuming book store worker. Soon we meet Guinevere Beck, Beck for short, and Joe falls for her. And he falls hard. Hard enough that if something gets in the way of their everythingship he does whatever he can to protect it… including murder.
It would almost even be sexy if it wasn’t so terrifying.
Written from the perspective of Joe talking to Beck, You actually made me gag at one point. I finished the book a few days ago but had to distance myself emotionally from it before I was able to write this review. Kepnes’s writing is chilling, and every time I put the book down I couldn’t help but continue to think about it. I want a sequel. I want to know the future, what happens beyond the last pages of this book.
